At a Loss 05:35
Such sour times the likes that we've never seen With so much said no time for what it might mean One final straw from an ambiguous start So many battered bodies and nearly broken hearts We're far from isolated and with no need to guess We're getting even more by begging for so much less Digging in your heels will only increase the flame How could we progress when you refuse any blame I'm at a loss once again The heavy cost makes my head spin I'm at a loss with what I could say I guess I could never understand quite how it be's that way these days There wouldn't be so many without a just cause Questioning the methods of those enforcing the laws Behavior needs to change, and we need something new When the deaths don't seem to matter what else is left to do A higher standard has to then apply at times With well-defined limits and with these obvious crimes So many on the streets screaming with tears in their eyes The unacknowledged deaths followed by so many lies I'm at a loss once again The heavy cost makes my head spin I'm at a loss with what I could say I guess I could never understand quite how it be's that way these days

A Moment 06:07
Did it ever really go the way you thought it would go Life seems to have a momentum all in its own In the dimly lit portico you call a home There's a greedy little hand in the shadows that catches every penny you own It comes with all the uncertainty of a knife You threw up to catch on the ceiling, but it bounced off and broke the light Ten or fifteen little monsters seem to gather around you They're in your head, they're in your heart, they're in your mind They control everything that you do The only thing the world's prepared you for is the solitude of a lonely day From the worker's hands to the farmer's plains From the man on top to the servant's chains In the lover's heart where his passions reigns The only thing that you get is a moment to make Only a matter of time before it starts breakin' Another piece in the line of what we've been makin' The temperamental design that's suddenly shakin' Plan on getting behind with the time it's takin' The only thing the world prepared you for is the solitude of a lonely day Winding up again in a similar place With that same expression in a familiar face The disappointment buried deep down in your chest Old habits and instincts providing the rest The only thing the world prepared you for is the solitude of a lonely day From the worker's hands to the farmer's plains From the man on top to the servant's chains In the lover's heart where his passions reigns The only thing that you get is a moment to make

Still Broken 05:33
Out of necessity Somewhere in me There's something still broken But I'll find it in time A quieter mind At least I'm still hoping to Now I'm thinking ahead Slowly seeing red Creating a flashback To all I once knew And was able to do Without getting sidetracked Now with the time I have left So much left unsaid The hum of frustration How can I still believe What's lost isn't freed Prostrate in sedation now Now I'm thinking ahead Slowly seeing red Creating a flashback To all I once knew And was able to do Without getting sidetracked Now the space that I need I have to concede It might be destructive So stripping it down A simpler sound Might be more productive now Out of necessity Somewhere in me There's something still broken But I'll find it in time A quieter mind At least I'm still hoping to

The ice in space Flows like honey And bubbles like champagne A few more hours in this far out place searching for unused Latin names I hear the engines humming And I don't know what that means For her and me A thousand miles in a blink A wrinkled face consumed with worry always trying to get it right Disappears above the thunder and fury as our rocket rocks us to sleep at night She does calculations in the morning And I project them on the screen for her and me A thousand questions deep Tears in the rain Time to die A mass confluence of confusion is swirling below in her head And in the face of some unknown fusion sometimes we just smile instead Nothing here rusts And no one can hear us sing sweet melodies A thousand dissonant strings Tears in the rain Time to die Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known

Virgil 02:40
We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again We are never going home again

The afternoon doesn't take half as long as the mornin' But the dawn is getting anxious, and the dawn is gettin' horny There's a Dandelion growin' from the tips of my fingers And it's bothersome to many but I let it tell a story While the world is overflowing with weeds and weed killers I was raised in the concrete, and I'll die by the gutter My mother felt the terror when she cast me to the wind Singing life will find a way, Darlin', life will find a way Way back 'Neath the trees I felt a violent tremblin' in my knees That time We killed Has never ever sat right with me Now the evening doesn't take half as long as the mornin' With the dirty breakfast dishes and the rehydrated coffee There's a tension in the water so we take another breath Disregard our dreams as fictions or a loose feeling of death There's a window to the stars ensures that everyone comes home There are monsters in the dark ensures we'll never feel alone But you can take me by the hand, and we take this hand of god Singing life will find a way, Darlin', life will find a way Way back 'Neath the trees I felt a violent tremblin' in my knees That time We killed Has never ever sat right with me The sun shine's hard But she gets insecure around the other stars So we buried her in the sand To try to prove the timelessness of a martyr's art And the relentless of a modern heart But then the time flew by The audacity of man opened the sky There were prayers sent up But we couldn't hear no matter how we tried No matter how we tried we couldn't hear The midnight doesn't take half as long as the mornin' But these days it's hard to tell which one's comin' which one's going Seven billion little heartbeats I must be part of the crowd I've never felt like one of them and anyway I'm losin' count You folded all my failing organs to the place where no one sleeps There's some work yet left to do and it's clear I'm getting weak And the Dandelion's wilting and the monster's in a mood But with your steady little hands the only way I'm getting through Way back 'Neath the trees I felt a violent tremblin' in my knees That time We killed Has never ever sat right with me The sun shine's hard But she gets insecure around the other stars So we buried her in the sand We had to bury her in the sand
